Sanaeeha’s second feature film, made in two languages of Persian and French, will be running in the main competition section of the 71st Berlin International Film Festival.
This is the first time in the history of post-revolutionary cinema and the second time in the history of Iranian cinema that the second film of an Iranian director has entered the main competition section of the Berlin Film Festival.
Produced by Qolamreza Mousavi, ‘A Ballad for the White Cow’ features Moghaddam and Sanaeeha as well as Pouriya Rahimi-Sam in the lead roles.
The Berlin Film Festival, along with the Cannes and Venice Film Festivals, is one of the largest and most important film festivals in the world. It also hosts the largest European film market.
This year’s edition will take place in two parts; an industry-focused, online-only event running March 1-5, and a Summer Special event featuring physical screenings, planned for June 9-20.
